About the ADA Civil Rights Training Center, LLC
I had the privilege of serving as a disability rights expert in Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice for more than twenty years. In that time, I oversaw litigation, regulation, mediation, settlement and technical assistance under the ADA, GINA and the Rehabilitation Act including federal government hiring of individuals with targeted disabilities under Section 501. I have trained hundreds of employees and managers both in the private sector and throughout the federal government on their employment rights and responsibilities with respect to individuals with disabilities. As a result of that experience, I have learned where the likely pitfalls are in an employment setting, where, how, and why things can go wrong, how manager-employee relationships get off track and how to successfully address those situations to avoid disability-based complaints. I have advised public and private sector management on how to draft and enforce workplace disability policies that are both efficient and effective in meeting their ADA obligations. and in building and maintaining workplaces that are disability diverse and disability inclusive.
